Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God...(1 Jn 5:1)

Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light for my path.
Ps 119:105

"But how do I become a mature Christian?" you ask. Just as you cannot grow physically into a strong healthy adult without daily food and exercise, so you cannot become a spiritually strong adult without daily feeding on God's Word, daily exercise in prayer, and daily application of the insights gained as to what God requires of you to the practical problems of life.

Feeding on the Word is not just reading so many verses a day, mechanically as a duty, but committing yourself to a program of life-long Bible study , really digesting and assimilating the truths of Scripture. The result will be that they become part of your very character and govern your relationship to God and the world around you. Prayer, too, cannot be indulged in by fits and starts; it is as necessary as the air you breathe, or the daily exercise of your muscles.

Welcome to “Reasoning From The Scriptures” Bible Studies, it is my goal to present a new Bible Study every week, each study will be as in-depth as possible; full of meat and potatoes. There will be plenty of Bible references, and some will have a bit of 'word study' (words from the origninal language Hebrew or Greek), it is only there to shed further light on the passage of scripture presented, this way we can better understand it as the people did to whom it was originally written to; so as I can recall my Pastor always saying, "Check my Theology".

One way to get the full meaning of what is being said about a particular verse or passage of scripture is to Look It Up for yourself and compare; many would call this the Berean Study Method. If you are not 100% sure of the principles being taught us by the Holy Spirit in any given verse or passage of scripture, then Look It Up and read it Within Its Context; don't just pass it by with a vague understanding.

Please bookmark this page, and stop by every Sunday morning for a Fresh Weekly Bible Study (WBS). You will need the Most Recent Version of Adobe Reader to view and or print the WBS.
